Rites of Passage-

Transformational Rituals and Ceremonies

Life is filled with moments of profound transition. At times, the old ways of being begin to unravel, the ground beneath us shifts, and we might feel disoriented or anxious.

These moments, though challenging, hold immense potential. Standing in this liminal, in-between space—on the threshold of change—offers the opportunity to:

  • Release what no longer serves us.

  • Envision a future aligned with our deepest desires.

  • Take brave, intentional steps toward new dreams.

These transitions are often marked by
Rites of Passage—rituals and ceremonies designed to honour and navigate the journey from one phase of life to the next.

As part of my Snake Medicine offerings, I create unique, personalised Rites of Passage ceremonies. These rituals are tailored to support your transformation, marking life’s pivotal moments with meaning, intention, and care.

One of the most vital teachings of Snake Medicine is the necessity to release the old to grow and renew.

Life is a journey of constant change, and resisting it leads to stagnation, or worse, illness. When we cling to possessions, work, relationships, or projects that no longer inspire or support us, we lose vitality—our own “shimmering skin.”

Snake encourages us to let go of what no longer serves us, such as outdated beliefs, patterns, relationships that have run their course, or work that we’ve outgrown.

Creating Your Personal Rite of Passage:

It would be my joy and honour to co-create a powerful ritual with you. Together, we’ll design a ceremony that reflects your journey, intention, and spirit.

A Rite of Passage ceremony might be crafted for:

  • Shedding & Transformation: Letting go of old beliefs, marking the end of a relationship, recovery from illness, grieving a loved one, or embracing menopause.

  • Honouring the Past: Acknowledging the lessons and growth from previous experiences.

  • Blessing a New Beginning: Celebrating a new chapter in life, such as change of work or relocation.

  • Marking Achievements: milestones, personal growth, or accomplishments: completion of trainings, study

  • Manifesting New Dreams: Inviting courage, clarity, and focus to bring your visions to life.

What is a Rite-of-Passage Ritual?

Cobra _edited.png

There are times in life when we hit deep change- an old relationship ends, a new one begins, we might experience the death of a beloved, menopause, a new job, relocating  … however our lives flow, we will always meet change - it’s the one constant in life.
Even though we know on an instinctual level that we need to go through this change, we might feel  afraid and resist and cling on to the old.

In tribal communities all over the planet, such times were seen as INITIATIONS and supported or celebrated in RITES OF PASSAGE.

These rituals or ceremonies mark a particular change and also help it along, offering a kind of threshold to step over from one time and state into another. It could be a vision quest, a firewalk or a plant medicine ceremony.

Such a Rite of Passage is like the snake’s shedding of the old skin: necessary for growth and health.

Here are some examples of intentions for a Rite of Passage ritual:

  • To find the strength and courage to leave an unhealthy relationship.

  • To release lingering attachments to an ex and fully embrace a new relationship.

  • To trust myself, my choices, and life’s unfolding.

  • To love and honour my body, especially parts I’ve struggled with.

  • To let go of remaining shame around my sexuality.

  • To free my voice, set boundaries, and feel safe.

  • To have survived cancer and embracing the new life.

  • To celebrate and embrace life after menopause.
